Bob Giffard played high school football for the Riverview Royals. In his senior, Bob would be a NBIAA All-Star and named Royals Offensive Player of the year. After graduating from RHS in 1992, Giffard would join the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men. He would remain with the X-Men for five seasons, winning the AUS Championship in 1996. After graduation, Bob would move to California for work. While home for vacation, Giffard suited up for the Moncton Marshals for a game and got the itch. When he moved back a year later, Bob joined the Marshals full-time. During his time with the Marshals, Giffard would be a two-time All-Star (03, 04), Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman (2004) and most importantly, MFL Champion (2004). In 2005, Giffard and long time friend Mark Crandall would co-found the Riverview Mustangs. As player with the Mustangs, Bob would earn even more accolades. He was named to the All-Star Team three more times (08, 09, 10), earned a spot the All-Decade Team, solidified his position as one of the best by being named Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2009, and above all that, he helped the Mustangs win four more MFL Championships. Giffard would officially retire as active player in 2015. His presence on the field was missed but it was his tireless work behind the scenes that kept the team running. Bob would serve as Team President from it's inception until stepping down in 2016. During his time as president, he would be named 2011 Football New Brunswick Volunteer of the Year. Bob currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Football New Brunswick and is still an active member of the Mustangs Executive serving as Past President. Giffard was inducted into the St. Francis Xavier X-Men Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 and would win his sixth MFL Championship in 2017.
