Mustangs Roll Past Razors 61–13, Set for Playoff Rematch at Rocky Stone Field

In front of nearly 300 fans, the Moncton Mustangs capped off a dominant regular season with a decisive 61–13 win over the Valley Razors, finishing a perfect 4–0 and carrying strong momentum into the playoffs.
The Mustangs have now outscored opponents an incredible 199–16 over four games, a testament to their complete control in all phases — especially at the line of scrimmage.
Dominance Starts Up Front
Moncton’s victory was built on physical play in the trenches, where both the offensive and defensive lines dictated the game.
The Mustangs’ offensive line consistently opened running lanes and provided clean protection for quarterback David Patry, allowing the offense to operate efficiently and explosively. On the defensive side, Moncton controlled the line of scrimmage, limiting Valley’s ability to establish any rhythm and forcing them into difficult situations.
Head coach Corey Lirette pointed to that physical foundation as critical to the team’s success.
“We don’t have many games or chances to miss on our success points,” Lirette said. “With playoffs around the corner, there’s very little leeway for missed opportunities.”
Fast Start Ignites the Crowd
The Mustangs wasted no time taking control. Patry opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Nick Bynkoski, before Caleb Fogarty broke loose for a 78-yard touchdown run, stunning the Razors early.
Patry continued his strong performance with touchdown passes to Anthony Milot (4 yards) and Bynkoski again (10 yards), as Moncton quickly built a commanding lead.
Balanced Attack Overwhelms Valley
Behind strong line play, the Mustangs showcased a balanced offensive attack.Gabriel St. Germain added a 2-yard rushing touchdown, while Fogarty struck again with a 40-yard run. A successful two-point conversion saw Patry connect with Cam Morley.
Lirette credited the team’s preparation and discipline for that consistency.
“We have to be tight on all cylinders — on the field and off it,” he said. “That means staying healthy, watching film, and putting in extra time whenever we can.”
Big Plays Seal the Game
In the second half, Moncton continued to dominate up front and capitalize on big plays. Patry connected with Matteo Mbho for a 77-yard touchdown, while Reece Martin (4 yards) and Cam Morley (13 yards) added rushing scores to finish the job.
Kicker Santiago Vicent converted 6 of 9 PATs.
Defense Sets the Tone Again
The Mustangs’ defensive front was equally impressive, controlling the line of scrimmage and limiting the Razors to just 13 points. Through four games, Moncton has allowed only 16 total points, reinforcing their reputation as the league’s most complete team.
Lirette emphasized the importance of preparation in maintaining that dominance.
“In this league, it’s critical we stay on top of changes — how players have performed in the past and against us,” he said. “We deep dive as much as possible so our players understand tendencies and schemes.”
Playoff Mindset Already Locked In
With the regular season complete, Moncton now turns its attention to a semifinal rematch with the Valley Razors.
“We try to make sure nothing is brand new on game day,” Lirette said. “We have to treat every game like it could be our last.”
The semifinal is set for Saturday, June 13 at 5:00 p.m. at Rocky Stone Field, with a championship berth at stake.
Other Semifinal Set
The Nova Scotia Buccaneers will face the Saint John Wanderers in the other semifinal, after Nova Scotia’s dominant 49–7 victory in their previous meeting.
No Margin for Error
As the Mustangs enter the postseason, their focus remains unchanged.
“There’s almost zero room for error,” Lirette said. “That’s why we really focus on the details and make them as clear as possible for our players.”
With control of the line of scrimmage, explosive playmakers, and a defense that continues to set the standard, the Mustangs now shift toward Saturday — where their championship pursuit begins in earnest.
